Bio
Md Rezwanul Haque is a PhD student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Waterloo, Canada. He recently completed his MASc in ECE at the Centre for Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence (CPAMI) Lab under the supervision of Prof. Fakhri Karray and Prof. Pin-Han Ho. He will pursue his doctoral research under Prof. Fakhri Karray and Prof. Zhou Wang, focusing on Multimodal Machine Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Agentic AI Systems for human-centered applications.
His research spans multimodal depression detection, continuous sign language recognition, medical image analysis, and embodied AI — published in top-tier venues including CVPR, ICCV, IEEE SMC, IJCNN, IEEE Access, and Elsevier. He is the recipient of the ICCV 2025 Best Poster Award, MSLR-2025 Challenge Winner (2nd Place), and multiple Faculty of Engineering Awards at UWaterloo.
Prior to his graduate studies, he worked as a Machine Learning Engineer and AI Consultant, accumulating professional experience in deep learning systems and real-world AI deployment. He holds a BSc in Computer Science and Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), Bangladesh.
His PhD research will focus on Agentic Systems for Embodied AI, Multi-Agent Embodied Systems with Shared Visual Understanding, and World Models & Visual Cognitions for Embodied Agents. To view the full CV, click here.
